The past year has been good to me in many ways, but it is also clear that it could have gone much better if I had a clear and constant vision of what I am about and what I do. Lack of a clear vision, goals and consequently the absence of a plan and focus has cost me much lost business and frustration.

I have given much thought to what SINGLE THING I wanted to focus on in 2010. Everything else should be secondary to that single thing. I have decided that 2010 will be the year that “I am a Writer”.

In 2010 I am going to develop and sharpen my writing skills, with the clear goal to become so good at copywriting that people will demand and prefer my services as a skilled copywriter.

How I met Rhonda

In the past couple of years I have seen many examples of the power of the Law of Attraction happening in my own life. Everything from manifesting sunglasses (twice) to meeting the right people at the right time.

Just recently I manifested contact with an amazing group of people in the firedancing community in Denmark, which completely has changed the direction and focus of my life.

But it wasn’t always like this …

Not so long ago, I was manifesting failures in many forms, as a husband (now single), father, economically and struggling with low self-esteem, problems with fitness, women and more.

When I discussed this with my mother or colleagues, I was quick to begin my list of all the terrible events happening to me. It was a seemingly endless avalanche of troubled times, money problems, and failed relationship.

I don’t know about you, but New Years resolutions have a tendency to be bright in your mind as you make them (often while “a little” under the influence), then fade away quickly once the hangovers set in and reality bites.

So this year I have decided to NOT make any New Years resolutions, but instead wrote down a number of New Years Affirmations instead!

Affirmations are positive statements about something, stated as if they are already true. You spend a few minutes every days, like in the morning and evening, reading them and reflecting on them. For better effect, write them out and put some on your mirror, at your desk or some other place where you see them every day.

I had a great workout on the new machine, but when I was done I noticed something odd – one of the pedals kept bumping into the stand below, and upon closer inspection I see that the left pedal attachment is bent!

Yes, it’s true – I BROKE THE NEW MACHINE TOO!

It might not be so noticable on the picture, but the arm sticking out of the center column is bent (see where the arrow points). Hey I’m not THAT heavy, so there must have been some manufacturing fault. Argh. Now I have to go return it and hope they have a replacement unit.

But I’m not giving up on the step/twist machine, I’ll get a new one. It’s my favorite, dang it!

I’m still waiting for Eben Pagan to release some new great stuff for you guys, but in the mean time you might want to revisit the first free video – or watch it for the first time if you haven’t yet.

A couple of marketing lessons

If you look carefully at the picture, you’ll see three more things in addition to the broken twist stepper.

1. An apology card and a box (containing delicious Gourmet Fudge Brownies) with a red bow on from SendOutCards. That is a gift from Russell Brunson and his affiliate manager, because they goofed with an affiliate check that bounced. Not only did they replace in full the costs I incurred because of the bounce, but they also sent this apology package. Now THAT is customer service that is worth sitting up and taking notice of! – Do you think I might be MORE or less inclined to work with these cool guys in the future? – Thank you Brent Coppieters and Russell Brunson for this great marketing lesson.

2. An oversized postcard saying “What kind of car does Perry Marshall drive?”. Again, do you think I might pay special attention to what Perry Marshall has to say with that card?  Absolutely. Great lesson Perry, thanks. You get free backlinks from me for that. You know where to send the chocolate and/or check, hehehe.

3. I also have my personally autographed copy of Ken McArthurs latest book, “Impact! – How to get noticed, motivate millions and make a difference in a noisy world”. I include it here to underline the point, that you must do something extraordinary to get noticed and make a difference.

Have You Read The 4-Hour Workweek?

The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss is one of a stack of books I bought in San Francisco after the WIME seminar, and one of the first I actually got around to reading.

It facinated me to a very high degree – the concept of selling or giving away most of your stuff and selling or renting out the house or appartment and then just heading out into the world, travelling from place to place, sometimes staying in one place for months, but moving on to new and exciting places. That resonated with me, and having already made the decision at the time to quit my job, I had a vital component of that lifestyle taken care of. However – actually taking the big step and selling the appartment and not looking back, that took a lot longer to come to terms with.

But I have made the decision – I’m heading out into the world! Why? Well – I found deep friendships and love while on my last trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I felt very much at home there, much more so than here in Denmark. After my previous travels to New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Barcelona, Paris, London, Amsterdam and other places I have been in recent years, I often found myself strangely out of place when I got home. I have to sell the appartment anyway, as a consequence of my settlement with my ex-wife, so I am using this as a good “excuse” to head out and see the world while I am in a situation not tied to a job or marriage. Of course there is my daughter here in Denmark to consider, but she lives with her mother and is used to me (and her mother) travelling a lot. I’ll be back to Denmark several times, and other times she will come with me. I am also arranging to have a webcam setup at her mothers place and of course I have my own webcam and Skype with me on my journeys so we’ll stay in touch

Unfortunately the appartment is not going to be sold right away – the real estate market is not so hot for sellers at the moment in Denmark, and I have to sell at a certain minimum price to get out of it debt-free, which may take a little longer. But I’m invoking the Law of Attraction to sell it faster. First of all, I am telling you about it and keeping it a vivid vision in my mind. Second, I am “acting as if” it’s going to be sold fast, i.e. starting to sell or give away the stuff I don’t need and packing the stuff I want to keep in boxes to be put in storage. Ask. Believe. Got the Bike for Jasmins 6 Years Birthday

Today I went and picked up the new bike for Jasmin at the store. It’s a very nice bike, which she can use the next couple of years. She’s going to love it. There’s a basket on the handlebars for her dolls and stuff – something she missed very much from her old bike.

It’s actually her birthday today april 26th, but for logistical reasons the celebration with gifts is not until tomorrow, so I’ll have to wait until then to give it to her. I’m also making a stack of pancakes from the family recipe and bringing tri-color icecream

I’ll be sure to take pictures and show Jasmin on the new bike soon!

What is my Secret?

I’ll get to that in a minute.

I just finished reading my copy of The Secret today. Actually I bought it way back in september last year after attending my first seminar in San Francisco, but I never really got around to seriously start reading it until on my return flight from Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago.

I had it half completed and it was fresh in my mind as I walked over my doorstep at home and I was happy to start working my business again and planning my return to US to rejoin the people I have come to know as my close and dear friends (and one more than that).

Unfortunately I was quickly overtaken by jetlag, loneliness and residual negative energies floating around in my apartment. It took me quite a while to get my spirits up and back to normal – when my soul finally caught up with my body after chasing across the 9 timezones (= 9 days of recovery they say).

But today I finally finished it, and boy am I glad I did! I might even go back and read the whole thing one more time just to reinforce the material in my mind.

In case you don’t know, The Secret is about the “Law of Attraction”. You attract what you think about, negative as well as positive things. So if you focus on how poor you are, the more you attract poverty in your life. But if you catch that, chuck it out and replace it instead with thinking thoughts of wealth, abundance, love and happiness, that is what you attract instead. Which would you rather attract?

My own “secret” to success is not really a secret. It is having a bright and vidid VISION of what I’m doing a year or two from now – or maybe sooner! The vision is what drives me and shapes how I build my business as a public person and “name brand”.

My vision is this – To be the guy speaking on the stage of seminars and workshops. Teaching and coaching, helping people find THEIR vision and helping them achieve it.

I don’t know exactly HOW it’s going to become reality and I don’t really need to know how – I just ask the universe to become this guy that I see in my vision. I firmly and truthfully believe that it will become a reality for me. And I know that I will receive this reality. I leave the HOW to the universe to puzzle out in its vast Rubriks Cube and don’t worry about it. It’s already starting to happen …

Ask. Believe. Receive.

I have a great story to tell about how the Law of Attraction actually manifested an object I had been looking for in months. It completely took me by surprise and confirmed for me without a doubt that there is something to this Law of Attraction thing

… But that story is for another day! …
