If you’re not making the level of sales that you’d like, the main reason is probably that you’re not getting enough traffic to your website, and it’s probably not your fault. You have to get the traffic before any of the other factors come into play.

If you are like most online entrepreneurs, you’ve been mislead about HOW to generate more traffic to your website. You’ve read course after course on the topic, but those course were often ghostwritten by individuals who were totally clueless about website traffic generation.

Big name gurus often described the course that they wanted written on outsourcing sites, and then went with the lowest bidder on the writing project. Then they hawked their courses through some hyped-up product launch, where most of those selling the course didn’t even bother to read it, and notice the flaws.

People like Willie Crawford who have been in business online for over a dozen years are so because they are successful at generating massive free traffic to their sites. For example this is through generating lots of “content” – like articles.

Your customers go online looking for solutions to their problems. When you have lots of content scattered across cyberspace, your customers find what you’ve shared, read or listen to it, and then click through to your site. They arrive at your site pre-sold on YOU and ready to buy your products. It’s as simple as that.

This has worked for over a dozen years, and continues to work great today. The only changes have been that now multi-media (video, and audio) are a very necessary part of the content mix.

What’s also changed is that you now need more articles, videos, audios, and press releases to break through the clutter and get noticed. In some niches, you have to publish dozens, maybe even hundreds of articles, to become the dominant expert. Then you need to get you content out to the top article directories, video sharing sites, podcast sites, and press release sites.

That sounds like a huge job, and without automation it is. However, there are sites where you upload your content to a server, select which sites you want it submitted to, click the submit button, and it’s taken care of. This allows you to do in about 2 minutes what it would take you hours to do manually.

I recommend Easy Push Button Traffic. Easy Push Button Traffic currently costs 1/4 as much as it’s leading competitor, Traffic Geyser, and works beautifully.

With Easy Push Button Traffic, you can submit an unlimited number of articles, videos, podcasts, and press releases each month for one low price. Other sites issue you so many credits per month – NOT unlimited submissions.

Easy Push Button Traffic is also 100% whitehat. They do not encourage you to do things such as spinning content, or submitting the same content multiple times with different titles. The sites that you submit to eventually catch on to this type of nonsense, and then they will ban you, then all of your work will be for nothing. Easy Push Button Traffic encourages you to think long-term, and focus on having a steady flow of quality traffic.

There are no big secrets to website traffic generation. I have found the easiest ways to generate free traffic though, and it’s “standing in front of the traffic” by generating lots of content.

Take a look at Easy Push Button Traffic now. Since you’re my reader, I’ve even got a special deal for you. When you use this link, you can get in for only $1.

Check out Easy Push Button Traffic

The $1 special is not mentioned anywhere on the website. But use the link above, then when you click through to the order form, you’ll see the $1 special offer. I’m not sure how long that special will last, so go ahead and get in now.

Go ahead and turn up your traffic, and sales, today.

Get Easy Push Button Traffic now

Have a great day!

I’m sure you have heard the expression “two brains are better than one”. It’s great if you have someone on hand as your sparring partner, but more likely than not, you’re just a single brain in your own business right?

Well how about being part of a group of up to 14 like-minded brains plus the expertise and guidance of Rhonda Cort and myself, connected to our network of thousands of industry professional joint venture partners, coaches and mentors?

Learn more here

The concept of the Mastermind was described by Napoleon Hill in this book “Think and Grow Rich”, but it has been utilized by successful people throughout the ages.

Being in a Mastermind and having access to a battery of other minds is one of the most effective ways to take yourself and your business to the next level, get unstuck, hook up with joint venture partners, new business ideas, find accountability partners and much more.

As Napoleon Hill puts it, “a group of brains coordinated (or connected) in a spirit of harmony will provide more thought-energy than a single brain, just as a group of electric batteries will provide more energy than a single battery”.

I met Rhonda Cort, also known as Magnetic Woman, at Ken McArthurs Impact Event in Orlando a few months ago. We quickly became great friends and knew that we had to join forces and create something together that complemented and leveraged our combined expertise.

We are now offering exclusive access to The Magnetic Mastermind for a select group of individuals who are ready to commit to growing their business.

As this is something that Rhonda and I invest our personal time in, we can only accept up to 14 qualified entrepreneurs, and the doors are only open for a very short period of time. Application to the Magnetic Mastermind is open until July 30th at 6 PM eastern time.

Watch Rhonda explain everything here

We opened the doors to applications yesterday, and already we have a lot of interested people from all over the world, like the UK, Netherlands, Bolivia, Czech Republic, USA, Kenya, Indonesia and South Africa downloading the application.

You must act quickly to secure your spot on the Magnetic Mastermind. Once the doors close, we are off and running to start the new group and we can’t say when – or even IF – we will open this again.

Get your application now

We like fast movers, so we have decided to offer these fast action special bonuses:

1) The first 2 accepted get to discuss a JV partnership with myself and Rhonda!

2) The first 4 accepted get to attend a private strategy call we will be holding before the Magnetic Mastermind starts!

Go for it

I am looking forward to working with YOU in the Magnetic Mastermind

Have a great day!

I am very happy and excited to bring you this message today

My very good friend and business partner Rhonda Cort, a.k.a. The Magnetic Woman and myself have joined forces to create what we call “The Magnetic Mastermind”.

See what it’s all about here

How I met Rhonda

The first time I heard of Rhonda was when I saw her on pictures from jvAlert Live! in Orlando earlier this year, and I knew immediately that I needed to meet this amazing woman and we soon connected on Facebook and Twitter. Later she told me that she felt the same when she saw me online. How about that!

We finally met in person at Ken McArthurs Impact Event in Orlando in April/May. Right away we hit it off and started bouncing business ideas around, and went on to have a great time the few days we had together.

It was quite an adventure. We went to see the new Star Trek together and she helped me out when I had a teleclass with Eben Pagan – which we had to start from a cellphone in her car in a parking lot and end in the nearby bookstore using Skype. Great teamwork.

Since I went back to Denmark, Rhonda and I have been working on putting together a project that could benefit our contacts and leverage our network. This is the result that you are seeing now

Are you serious?

The Magnetic Mastermind is an exclusive opportunity for serious entrepreneurs to join our network and create a group of like-minded people to support each other under our competent and caring guidance.

If you are absolutely serious about taking your business to the next level and are willing to invest in your success, then this is for you. However, we are only accepting a maximum of 14 qualified people, and spots are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Rhonda has recorded a video for you, explaining everything you need to know about it.

Watch the video now

What is a Mastermind?

Masterminds have been known throughout the ages as one of the most effective ways to create success in business and life. The concept was popularized by Napoleon Hill in his groundbreaking book “Think and Grow Rich” in the chapter “Power of the Master Mind”. There he defines the Master Mind as “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose”.

The Magnetic Mastermind

In the case of The Magnetic Mastermind, the definite purpose is to take you and your business to the next level, so that you can achieve the lifestyle that you desire. Rhonda and I will help you and guide you in the Magnetic Mastermind group, as will the other group members. Together we can accomplish so much more than you can alone. Solutions to your problems will emerge, you will get new business ideas, gain accountability partners and find a new sense of belonging.

You will also get connected to Rhondas and my amazing network of thousands of joint venture partners, who can help get your product promoted or even find business partners. Between Rhonda and me, we have “been there, done that, got the list” and are already connected to many of the top names in Internet Marketing.

Take Action Now

This email is going out to about 14,000 people between my list and Rhondas contacts, as well as getting published on our social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, so don’t delay too long. We expect to sell out of the maximum of 14 spots that we have to offer in the Magnetic Mastermind within the 48 hour period. After that, the doors are closed, and we may not offer it again, or we may offer it, but at a significantly higher price. Either way, the time to join is now.

Go watch the video

Fast Action Bonuses

As the saying goes, “money loves speed”. Rhonda and I firmly believe in rewarding the fast movers. That is why we are giving these highly valuable bonuses:

1) The first 2 accepted get to discuss a JV partnership with myself and Rhonda!

2) The first 4 accepted get to attend a private strategy call we will be holding before the Magnetic Mastermind starts!

Get the details here

I know you will make the decision that is right for you …

Have a great day!

I’m Nicole Dean, and I’m here as a guest expert on Odinn’s blog this week as part of my Blog Summer World Tour. Today I’m posting my final installment about “Common Networking Mistakes that Will Make People Run Screaming from your JV Offers” – or something like that.

If you’ve missed any of my posts this week, you can find them here:

Networking Mistake #1: Being Greedy

Networking Mistake #2: Being Fussy and Finicky

Networking Mistake #3: Not Keeping Promises

Networking Mistake #4: Requiring People to Jump Through Hoops

And, on to our fifth and final networking mistake for this week. This one is short and sweet.

#5 Networking Mistake: Last-Minute Larry

Last-Minute Larry will contact you and say “Hey, can you send this to your list today? The launch is tomorrow.”

My response? “Uh… no.”

Last-Minute Larry is either very unorganized or very rude. Or both.

There’s not a whole lot of advice to this post other than this. Don’t jump through hoops for a Last-Minute Larry, unless he’s done the same for you.

What do do when you find yourself dealing with an Last-Minute Larry?

Either ignore the email, or reply with a quick note that you won’t be able to promote due to other commitments.

Both of those will usually do the trick.

If you find yourself being an Last-Minute Larry…

Simply remember that most people are two things. Do you remember what they are from yesterday? 1. Busy and 2. Busy.

By giving them plenty of notice, you’ll certainly get better results.

Yesterday I talked about “Unreliable Ursula”, the JV partner who doesn’t do what she promises, and I ended my post with a quippy “I’ll be back tomorrow — and that’s a promise.” Oh, how I tempted fate. I’m having one of *those* days and everything that could go wrong has.

So, it’s nearly 8pm and here I am, finally writing my post. BUT I did manage to win the latest battle with my computer gremlins (and neighbor kids) and I’m here with what I hope will be a helpful post at the end of a difficult day.

Speaking of “Difficult” that is the theme for today. I’d like to introduce you to Networking Mistake #4: Difficult Danny.

Difficult Danny could also be called Lazy Lucy. This it the person who sends you a JV request that looks like a College Syllabus or perhaps a “Honey Do” list. You skim down the long list of steps in the JV request, thinking “are you insane”?

Have you ever gotten a JV request that started like this?

“I’d love you to join my affiliate program. Just go here and watch a video to learn more….”

Watch a video? Really? Before I even get a link or have any idea what the product is about? I *really* don’t like videos. That’s a deal breaker right there.

And, it gets worse…

Watch a welcome video.

Sign up for the affiliate program.

Email the Affiliate Manager to get approved for the affiliate program.

Hunt down your affiliate links in the affiliate center that you can’t find without asking.

Write a promotion.

Oops. Go back and log in and enter your Tax ID and paypal info — it didn’t ask for that when you applied, but they need it before they can approve you.

And, after all of your hard work, you won’t get paid until you request payment by sending an invoice.

Do you just want to say “SERIOUSLY?!” I do. I mean, come on. Who has time for all this?

Actually, that’s one reason why I really love using Clickbank.com for my affiliate program. While Clickbank does have their weaknesses (as all programs do), recruiting affiliates is super-easy. All I have to do is find a person’s clickbank ID (or request it) and then I can send their link embedded into a prewritten promo. No videos to watch. Nothing new to sign up for. No hoops to jump through. No tax id’s to request. My JV partner or affiliate can then simply copy/paste and they’re ready to make money.

If you’re using your own shopping cart, you can still make things easy for your affiliates and networking buddies by pre-entering the preliminary information for them into your shopping cart. (You can always change it later.) Then, request their tax ID, address, and paypal address in the contact email that you send with their link.

Also, give people options to make their lives easier.

People in other countries oftentimes get frustrated with checks in the mail and would rather receive payment via paypal.

Personally, I really dislike videos, as I mentioned, so anything that requires me to watch a video in order to understand the affiliate program will be put off… probably forever.

I also am not a fan of having to request an affiliate payment. It kind of should be done automatically.

What do do when you find yourself dealing with an Difficult Danny?

If you run into a Difficult Danny and you’re not that interested in the product or JV request, simply send it to your recycle bin.

However, if you find out too late that you’re working with a Difficult Danny, and the process is ridiculous, then simply ask the person to handle things for you in an easy-going way.

For instance, “I’m just not finding time for this process. What info do you need from me, exactly in order for me to get my promo link?”

That’s pretty obvious.

If you find yourself being an Difficult Danny…

Again, quit it already.

But, seriously, as either a JV broker, an Affiliate Manager, or just in doing cross-promos with networking buddies — remember that people are two things 1. busy and 2. busy. So, if you want something done, and you’re asking for an action from someone, then make it simple for them to do it for you.

Compare it to your real life. Let’s say I have a friend coming over and I’d like her to stop and pick up a bottle of wine on her way to dinner.

Well, I’d say “Can you please pick up a bottle of Merlot or Cabernet Savignon? It would be perfect for dinner and I forgot. Just grab whatever you like that sounds good. Price? Oh whatever looks good.”

I would not say “Can you please pick up a bottle of Vampire Merlot? It’s quite hard to find and they don’t have it anywhere locally, so you’ll have to drive to the next town to find it. Actually, it’s on the other side of the next town, and you’ll want to get there before dark as your car might be broken into while you’re in the store. And, while you’re over there, can you grab two cases of it? Oh, you hurt your back? Oh, dear. ok, well then just one case. Thanks! buh-bye!”

The lesson?

Make it easy for people to do what you want done and they will oftentimes do it. Any woman who has been married for more than a day knows this already. Any parent does, as well. Set people up to succeed and they can please you.

And, in your business? Don’t be difficult to promote or people just won’t do it. When you’re wondering why no one is responding to your JV requests, I’ll be scooping them up right behind you.

Just look at this Blog World Tour. All Odinn had to do was give me a login to his blog, and now I’m in. He doesn’t have to do ANY work from now on. Any time I have something cool to promote or write about I can shoot him an email and make sure it’s ok for me to do so. I know his clickbank ID, so I can insert his affiliate links in everywhere I mention the product. Does that sound like work for him? Nah. Not so much. Do I benefit? Oh heck yeah!

Make it EASY and it works. How do you think I got 13 blog owners to let me commandeer their blogs for a week each? It’s a win-win with no work for them. That’s why.

Hi. I’m Nicole Dean, and I’m here as a guest expert on Odinn’s blog this week talking about Common Networking Mistakes

So far we’ve talked about being a Greedy Gus and a Fussy Fiona. Today, we’ll discuss our friend, Unreliable Ursula. As an affiliate manager, I run into a lot of Unreliable Ursulas, unfortunately.

Here’s a little insight that I’ve gleaned over the years – paired with a minor therapy session vent.

Oh Ursula, Ursula, Ursula. You promised to do a mailing and you didn’t do it. I arranged everything for you and waited… and waited… I sent a reminder email. You promised to send it. I waited and waited…

Didn’t your mother ever tell you “Don’t make promises that you’re not going to keep”?

Now, I’ll back up just a touch here. People are busy. We all have tons going on and forget sometimes what we’ve promised. Heck, I do so many written interviews that I sometimes let one slip through the cracks. So, I tell everyone to please remind me if they don’t hear from me within 2 weeks just to guarantee that I don’t inadvertently let someone down. Add to that, my helpers sending me payment requests, and tons of JV requests both for my own business and for my clients. Yes, things can and do fall through the cracks.

However, when someone is a great affiliate manager like I am… (and modest, too) – and she sends everything that a JV partner would ever need (a branded report, graphics, and a custom mailing) at the JV partner’s request, and the mailing still doesn’t get sent even with reminders, then that doesn’t exactly make one want to reciprocate, now does it?

What do do when you find yourself dealing with an Unreliable Ursula?

A few things.

Don’t assume that the person is being rude. People honestly do forget and may have every intention of following through. Do check in with the JV partner a few times to give them every opportunity to keep their end of the bargain.

Avoid getting snippy. Bite your tongue (or your fingers), if necessary. There could be a million and ten reasons why the JV partner hasn’t sent the mailing. Family emergency, email gremlins, hosting problems, travel/vacation, etc. Being rude is never acceptable in business. It will usually come back to bite you in the butt later.

Try to pin down an exact action date when communicating with your JV partners so you’ll know when they do intend to follow through.

Kindly remind the person of the effort that you put in and see if you can do anything else to make it even easier for her to do the promotion. Perhaps you can offer to log into her blog and post the promo yourself if she’s super busy, which is something that I oftentimes do.

Give examples of how others are benefiting from similar promotions that you’ve put together.

Offer to spread the word about her promotion once it’s live. (Does that make sense?) Once she posts your promo to her blog – Tweet about it, StumbleUpon it, and Digg it. There’s nothing more motivating to a JV partner than seeing those affiliate commissions come through.

If you find yourself being an Unreliable Ursula…

If you’re not following through because you’re overworked, get some help. Outsource, automate, or get a healthy dose of focus and drop some of your less-profitable ventures.

If you’re not following through because you’re unorganized, get organized. Implement a list system, or do as I do and quickly add the promo into your blog or autoresponder drafts so it’s waiting for you when you have more time.

You certainly don’t want to get a reputation as scatterbrained or unreliable. Even if you don’t have time to do a full promotion, at least give it a quick mention in a mailing, on Twitter and on your blog and communicate to your JV partner that you’ll follow up in X number of days when you’re more freed up. That act alone can make all the difference. Or don’t make promises in the first place, if you can’t keep them.

Lesson of the Day

Everyone is busy. Assume your JV partners are busy, especially if you’re an affiliate manager or JV Broker and are responsible for arranging thousands of deals with people on an ongoing basis. Follow up and give reminders. However, if you find you’re dealing with someone who thinks she wins the “Busiest of All” competition and is an Unreliable Ursula – you might want to move on to someone more reliable.

Hi again. I’m Nicole Dean and I’m a guest expert here this week at Odinn’s request.

This week, I’ll be talking about Common Networking Mistakes That Can Ruin Your Reputation and Give you Zero Chance of JV Success – whether it’s communicating JV requests or in everyday business interactions.

Yesterday, I talked about Greedy Gus. We all know him. He’s the kind of person who’s very good at asking for stuff, but not so great at finding ways to reciprocate or even offering to reciprocate. Now, part of our problem with Gus may be that we aren’t firm enough in asking for stuff ourselves, so we tend to get bulldozed by him if we aren’t careful.

Fussy Fiona is much like Greedy Gus. I’ve run into a few Fussy Fiona’s in my days and, needless to say, they are no longer at the top of the people that I choose to promote now that I know what they are like. Yikes.

A Fussy Fiona is usually very nit-picky, in my experience. She is the one who will balk about every single possible thing that she can find until she drives you bonkers.

Here’s an example, and no it isn’t a real one as I don’t care to burn bridges or be personally hurtful to anyone, not even to the Fussy Fiona’s of the world.

I write a lot of reports that I give freely to my readers, as does Jimmy D. Brown, my mentor and friend.

One of Jimmy’s newest free reports is this:

FREE REPORT

10 Proven Ways to Earn 10K Every Month

It’s great. Be sure to grab it now and read it if you haven’t yet.

Well, every single one of the “10 Ways to Earn 10K” has a recommendation for a course where you can get more info about that method of earning income. And, almost every link in the report is brandable.

Here’s where it gets cool – and really viral.

One of the ways to earn 10K/month is eBay. Therefore, it’s my job to approach all of the good “Make Money on eBay” programs and offer them the report to give away. Of course their ebook or program would be recommended as the place to learn more about how to make money on eBay.

In the “Site Flipping” section, it’s the same thing. And, the affiliate marketing section… and every other one of the 10 ways in the report. (Can you say “Networking on Steroids”?)

Therefore I am on a networking frenzy — finding people to work with to give this report legs and get it spread high and low throughout the web. Basically, it’s the job that never ends.

So, I’m working through those. As you can imagine it’s a lot of busy work and a tremendous amount of juggling and coordination.

I try to make it so that I do all of the work rather than asking our partners to do so. I don’t mind doing it as I know it’ll bring in increased exposure and revenue to our program. Plus I get to connect with really neat people like Odinn.

But, of course, I’ll occasionally run across a stinker who wants all kinds of things changed and customized just for him. To do that, I have to alter the original Word Doc – which creates a lot more work for me. And, depending on the person – well, I may do it, but as I’m jumping through hoops, I won’t be feeling the love much, if you know what I’m saying.

On the other hand, some of my friends are super-easy to please and are WONDERFUL to JV with.

Odinn – easy peasy.

Lynn Terry – awesome.

Bob “the Teacher” Jenkins – a total joy to work with.

Actually, you can pretty much look down my list of people on my “Blog Summer Tour” and see some of my buds.

Who else? Ronnie Nijmeh – he’s a friend who I’d partner with on just about anything. He’s so easy-going …. unlike Fussy Fiona who only thinks about the immediate profits and burns bridges for long-term gain.

What do do when you find yourself dealing with a Fussy Fiona?

Stand your ground and say “no” if you feel you’re being taken advantage of or being asked to do something that will cause you a ridiculous amount of work.

However, if you can handle it, just finish up the deal so that she’s happy and note that you’d rather not work with her in the future.

If you find yourself being a Fussy Fiona…

Stop it already. The internet is a great big place with oodles of potential. Don’t be burning bridges and making people jump through hoops because you’re fussing about some link in a doc that’s mentioned off-handedly, for instance, and may never even be clicked.

Or as I tell my kids and my husband — Choose your Battles Wisely.

Lesson of the Day

Be easy and fun to work with and the JV offers will continue to become more and more profitable – and so will your bottom line. And that, my friends, is a promise that you can take to the bank.

I’ll be back tomorrow with the next big networking mistake. Stay tuned.

Warmly,
My name is Nicole Dean and I’m a visiting guest expert here on Odinn’s blog this week.

I had the pleasure of “almost” meeting Odinn at JV Alert in Orlando. We sat about 3 feet away from each other for 3 days and both were too shy to introduce ourselves. So… after the event, I emailed him and apologized for being a big chicken. We’ve emailed back and forth a bit since then and are becoming fast friends. It’s my honor to be here as a featured expert on his blog.

Let me back up a bit and explain why I’m here. Here’s the deal. I’m doing this crazy Summer Blog World Tour where I’ll be touring around to 13 or more fantastic blogs over the course of 3 months, just like this one. I asked each blog owner to select an aspect of online business success that they’d like me to talk about during my visit. Odinn gave me a ton of great ideas and the topic that I chose is Networking Effectively.

This is a topic that’s near and dear to my heart for a number of reasons. You see, I wear many hats as an entrepreneur. Don’t we all?

As a “Boss”: I choose to surround myself with positive, energetic people. Currently, I have a team of helpers who I pay every month. (Virtual Assistants, Designers, Ghostwriters for my niche sites, techies for installing stuff, etc.)

When I’ve been at jobs in the past, I did not have control over who I worked with. Now I own my own business, so I do. I’ve chosen to work with and network with people who I find fun, fascinating, and fabulous in some way or another. I suggest that you do the same. Whether we’re talking about people who you hire or just buddies to network with, it makes work so much more enjoyable when you connect with people who you honestly care about and want to succeed.

As a Content Expert: I have been called a content expert because I make my words work for me in many ways in my business.

I am a guest expert on blogs (like I am doing today).

I write articles.

I have my own podcast.

I create videos.

I write and offer free reports that are customizable and great for giveaway events. (hint, hint)

I have my own products and membership sites.

And I have been selling PLR articles since 2006.

Plus I recycle my most effective content like the best of them.

How does this fit into the topic of networking? Simple. Content on my own hard-drive and on my own websites is great, but I want my content spread far and wide… like this Blog World Tour that I’m doing. I had to network quite a bit to arrange three solid months of guest blogging. (Scheduling, arranging topics, organizing logins…) It wasn’t easy. Thankfully, my personal assistant handled most of it.

This Blog Summer World Tour is a win-win networking opportunity for everyone involved. And, it’s a heck of a lot more interesting than posting to my own blog all summer long like I’ve done every other year.

As an Affiliate Manager: I have been Jimmy D. Brown’s Affiliate Manager since January 2007. (If you don’t know about Jimmy yet, check out his blog here: Jimmy D. Brown’s blog) One of the most critical parts of my job is arranging win-win profitable promotions with other marketers. Basically it’s my job to find what motivates others to promote us and to make that happen so we both profit.

That’s one reason why I’m here today – to help make it easy for Odinn to add content to his blog. He benefits because he gets great content written by me. Inside the blog posts, you’ll find recommendations to valuable top-quality products and services as well as freebies.

How Odinn benefits: Because of my guest blog posts, he stands to make affiliate sales for years to come.

How I benefit: Some of the sites that I’ll mention are Jimmy’s or mine. (Naturally, since his courses and freebies are amazing!)

As a Business Partner: I have partnered in several areas of my business. My partners help me to be much more profitable than I would be alone. By pairing their expertise with my own, I’ve experienced greater long-term gain.

A few examples are:

ReliableWebs.com – a hosting company with free Word Press blog installations that I co-own with Kelly McCausey.

OutsourceWeekly.com – a course that I co-created with Jimmy D. Brown about how to be more efficient and effective in your business by harnessing the power of others.

So, this week, per Odinn’s request, I’ll be talking about the “The Critical Networking Mistakes That Can Ruin Your Reputation and Give you Zero Chance of JV Success.”

There’s no time like the present so let’s get started.

#1 Networking Mistake: Being a Greedy Gus

Greedy Gus is all about “me, me, me and me”. Whenever an email comes through from Gus or the phone shows his caller ID, you groan and think “What does he want now?”

Gus’s requests are always one-sided like this…

Sbj: Who do you know… I need your help!!

I am… I…

Me, me, me, me, me

Do you know anyone who is a sphere of influence and works with … ? If so I’d love an introduction to them because their clients are my perfect clients.

So, if you know anyone who needs… please hand out my name…

Do you notice what’s missing in this email? A clear offer of reciprocity for one.

Now, I can’t poo-poo this email entirely. It might possibly be appropriate if sent from a close friend who has helped you in the past and whose work you know well. And, if you only receive an email like this once.

But, if you get the feeling that you’re being used every time you talk to this person (even though they seem really really nice), you’re talking to a Greedy Gus.

What do do when you find yourself dealing with an Greedy Gus?
The way to handle a Greedy Gus is either to ignore their requests or to make sure you explain that your expect that the arrangement will be reciprocated from the get go (and HOW it will be reciprocated).

Don’t let them run off with a “Thanks so much! Let me know what I can do for you some day…” or you’ll always feel frustrated and used when interacting with them. Tell them what you expect before you put in any effort on their request – otherwise, you run the risk of becoming Greedy Gus’s doormat in a big hurry.

If you’re shy or have a hard time saying “no” to a Greedy Gus then you’ll have to work hard to stand up for yourself or ask for something in return. Oftentimes a Greedy Gus has no idea how self-centered he looks to others, because he assumes that everyone else is like him and will just ask for what they need. So, you’ve got to put in a request or you’ll continue in a one-sided relationship where you’re the giver and he’s the receiver.

If you find yourself being a Greedy Gus…
If your JV requests to me sound like a Greedy Gus – my VA’s are trained to delete them before I ever see them. I assume most people have similar set-ups or just delete the requests themselves. I have even set filters for certain people so that their emails go directly to the trash.

So.. if you’re not getting the results you wanted from your networking requests and you think it might be because you’ve been a Greedy Gus, you might want to try a more win-win tactic.

That’s it for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with the next big networking mistake. Stay tuned.

Hi,

This is Odinn Sorensen with a quick video for you about the new StomperNet Formula Five program.

Watch my video here

I have recorded this for you to make sure that you get a chance to watch the new video by Andy Jenkins and StomperNet called “Dead Simple”.

In this video he introduces you to the first of the five modules called “Margin Magnifier” and shows you how just a 15% increase in the five areas is enough to double your profits.

Make sure to go and watch this 32 minute no-fluff content video and take plenty of notes. Also make sure you signup to join the “Formula Five fan club” where you’ll get Paul Lembergs 1 hour 13 minute “Formula Five Unleashed” presentation, and more videos in the next couple of weeks.

Also, as a valued Joint Venture partner of StomperNet I have access to the Formula Five members site, even before it’s launched, and I want to take this opportunity to take you on a quick trip inside the site.

My US marketer friends have already received the Formula Five box in the mail and unwrapped it on video for you, but it’s not arrived here in Denmark yet so this is the best I can do for you.

The Formula Five members site is actually a complete training and community website, with all the lessons online, plus forums, blogs and you can even fill in your profile for added exposure to other members. This should be great for networking with like-minded people.

Here are the five module names:

"Margin Magnifier"
"Sales Stackers"
"Lead Landslide"
"Conversion Control"
"Turbo Thruster"

Notice the cute naming.

Now, unfortunately I’m not allowed to show you the actual content, but I will show you the table of contents just to give you an idea of what’s inside each module.

Okay, that’s it for me today, please go now to the site, watch the “Dead Simple” video and signup for more free goodies.

Go watch the “Dead Simple” video now

Have a great day!

Impact Boot Camp: T minus 4 days and counting!

The clock is seriously ticking now with only 4 days until Ken McArthur unleashes his 18 Impact Action Team members live on stage in Philadelphia this weekend, august 22nd to 24th. I am one of the 18 hand-picked members

See what the Impact Boot Camp is all about

If you are able to travel to Philadelphia (or live there) this weekend, you should join us! – Use coupon code “IMPACT” to get a free ticket to the event! It’ll be awesome, fun, chaotic and lots of cameras and action!

One of my tasks these days in connection with the event, is putting the final touches on a big giveaway site that I run in parthership with Ken McArthur, called the Impact Action Giveaway. At this giveaway some of the Impact Action Team members, myself and hundreds other marketers are giving away more than a hundred great free gifts.

The giveaway officially opens for members august 21st at 12 pm eastern, and we are still looking for more contributors to give more free gifts. If you are interested in getting in front of some of the massive traffic generated as a result of the Impact events, then I highly recommend that you join the giveaway TODAY and submit your gift.

Join as contributor on Impact Action Giveaway now

Each day from now on I will be reporting about the Impact Boot Camp, the giveaway and other related news about theses events. In addition to news via email, I plan to report happenings on my blog and host streaming video Q’n'A and interview sessions live from the event. Watch my emails for news and updates from this exciting event!

In Other News …

Affiliate Payload: One of my favorite marketers, Alex Goad, is heading on a collision course with the “Gurus” and “Super Affiliates” in his prelaunch sequence for Affiliate Payload, that is due out tomorrow at 12 pm eastern. Notice how he is using the “us versus them” anti-guru strategy to polarize his audience. I have seen some of Alex’ earlier stuff and I don’t hesitate to recommend anything he comes out with, although this one may not be for the freshest newbies out there.

Watch Alex battle against “the establishment” here

JV Wealth Club: Also launching tomorrow is a membership site on Joint Ventures from Jerome Chapman, Dylan Loh, Stephen Luc & Sean Lowery. You will get weekly quick start training videos, confidential monthly JV files, monthly interviews with elite industry marketers and access to a members only JV networking community site.

Check out JV Wealth Club here

Big Seminar 12: Follow Armand Morins free training calls here, and seriously consider going if there is any way you can. It’s something you will never forget or regret and it will be a huge turning point for you.

Get free training from Armand Morin here

Thanks,
Odinn

P.S. Follow me on Twitter and add me as a friend on Facebook and other sites.
