Have You Read The 4-Hour Workweek?

The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss is one of a stack of books I bought in San Francisco after the WIME seminar, and one of the first I actually got around to reading.

It facinated me to a very high degree - the concept of selling or giving away most of your stuff and selling or renting out the house or appartment and then just heading out into the world, travelling from place to place, sometimes staying in one place for months, but moving on to new and exciting places. That resonated with me, and having already made the decision at the time to quit my job, I had a vital component of that lifestyle taken care of. However - actually taking the big step and selling the appartment and not looking back, that took a lot longer to come to terms with.

But I have made the decision - I’m heading out into the world! Why? Well - I found deep friendships and love while on my last trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I felt very much at home there, much more so than here in Denmark. After my previous travels to New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Barcelona, Paris, London, Amsterdam and other places I have been in recent years, I often found myself strangely out of place when I got home. I have to sell the appartment anyway, as a consequence of my settlement with my ex-wife, so I am using this as a good “excuse” to head out and see the world while I am in a situation not tied to a job or marriage. Of course there is my daughter here in Denmark to consider, but she lives with her mother and is used to me (and her mother) travelling a lot. I’ll be back to Denmark several times, and other times she will come with me. I am also arranging to have a webcam setup at her mothers place and of course I have my own webcam and Skype with me on my journeys so we’ll stay in touch

Unfortunately the appartment is not going to be sold right away - the real estate market is not so hot for sellers at the moment in Denmark, and I have to sell at a certain minimum price to get out of it debt-free, which may take a little longer. But I’m invoking the Law of Attraction to sell it faster. First of all, I am telling you about it and keeping it a vivid vision in my mind. Second, I am “acting as if” it’s going to be sold fast, i.e. starting to sell or give away the stuff I don’t need and packing the stuff I want to keep in boxes to be put in storage. Ask. Believe. The pictures I show above are the view from my appartment and from inside the livingroom. They are part of a set I am taking for the salespage for the appartment. I did the panoramas by automatically stitching together a bunch of pictures using the very cool free tool AutoStitch.

Got the Bike for Jasmins 6 Years Birthday

Today I went and picked up the new bike for Jasmin at the store. It’s a very nice bike, which she can use the next couple of years. She’s going to love it. There’s a basket on the handlebars for her dolls and stuff - something she missed very much from her old bike.

It’s actually her birthday today april 26th, but for logistical reasons the celebration with gifts is not until tomorrow, so I’ll have to wait until then to give it to her. I’m also making a stack of pancakes from the family recipe and bringing tri-color icecream
